چکیده
Both temperature-responsive and patterned photonic coatings are receiving a lot of attention from fundamental application point view. However, the fabrication multicolor patterns, which also temperature-responsive, remains challenging. The current work presents thermochromic coating with light polarization-dependent multiple structural colors polymer-stabilized cholesteric liquid crystal siloxane oligomer. It is found that color temperature response can be manipulated by varying polymerization temperature, allowing patterns. During heating, each starts shifting at different until sample entirely blue high temperature. Upon cooling, pattern returns, showing reversible. On top that, linearly polarized dependency obtained, reflection when incident polarization angles. A multicolor, polarization- color-dependent features fabricated for demonstration.

Observation of light polarization-dependent structural changes in chalcogenide glasses
The atomistic origin of photoinduced vector ~polarization-dependent! phenomena in As–Se films is determined by extended x-ray absorption fine structure with in situ exposure to polarized laser light. A vector structural change is observed directly for any material: there is an expansion of the nearest-neighbor distance around the Se atoms, the magnitude of which depends on the direction of ligh...
متن کاملOptical and morphological properties of thermochromic V2O5 coatings
We present optical and morphological characterizations performed on thermochromic V2O5 coatings. V2O5 coatings were obtained by oxidation of as-deposited VOx films. Comparisons were made among coatings oxidized at various temperatures. Photographic evidence is also shown to provide the reader a clear visual description of the color change that occurs during thermochromic process. Detailed study...
متن کاملDynamic Changes in Structural Color of a Lamellar Block Copolymer Photonic Gel during Solvent Evaporation
A high molecular weight, lamellar block copolymer (BCP) can exhibit a photonic stop band in the visible range of wavelengths due to the one-dimensional periodic dielectric layer structure. After dissolving a high molecular weight BCP in a neutral solvent, solvent evaporation causes microphase separation, forming a so-called “photonic gel” at a quite low polymer concentration (∼10 wt %). Moreove...

This paper presents a novel approach for recovering the shape of non-Lambertian, multicolored objects using two input images. We show that a ring light source with complementary colored lights has the potential to be effectively utilized for this purpose. Under this lighting, the brightness of an object surface varies with respect to different reflections. Therefore, analyzing how brightness is...
